Een danser moet de maat van de muziek goed aanvoelen om passen, sprongen en armbewegingen precies op het juiste moment uit te voeren. Zonder een goed ritmegevoel lijken bewegingen al snel slordig of ongecontroleerd, terwijl disco dans net draait om strak en energiek dansen op de beat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ten tweede zorgt ritme ervoor dat een dans er vloeiend en natuurlijk uitziet. In disco dans volgen bewegingen elkaar snel op, en een goed gevoel voor ritme helpt om die overgangen mooi en gecontroleerd te maken. Wanneer een danser het ritme goed beheerst, lijkt het alsof lichaam en muziek perfect samen \u00e9\u00e9n geheel vormen, en dat maakt de choreografie veel sterker om naar te kijken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ten derde is ritme ook belangrijk omdat het helpt om synchroon te dansen met anderen. In duo\u2019s, groepen of formaties moet iedereen op exact hetzelfde moment bewegen. Als \u00e9\u00e9n danser het ritme mist, valt dat meteen op en verliest de groep haar strakke uitstraling.
